A major topic for leaders in the United States and in China is whether or not electric vehicles should be allowed on the road or not. Safety concerns due to speed limitations that many electric vehicles have may result in more car accidents, however studies are very preliminary on this topic. Hybrid vehicles such as the Honda Civic Hybrid can be purchased from Augusta Honda Dealers. Electric vehicles are speed limited due to current limitations in battery power and electric engine horsepower, however that is not to say that in the future there will be more powerful electric models available. Hyundai, whose vehicles can be browsed while Buying A New Hyundai Birmingham, will be releasing some electric models in the future among other automakers.
Also if you are in Birmingham, you should get a Birmingham Oil Change to make sure that your vehicle is maintained properly. Tighter emissions standards and more environmentally conscious consumers are one reason why automakers are turning to electric and hybrid vehicle production. But at the moment, there seems to be a problem with vehicle speed. For city driving, electric vehicles seem to be fine, as most of them can reach up to 50 miles per hour which is typically the maximum speed limit found in many cities.
For highway driving, that may be another story with many speed limits in the United States being at anywhere from 55 to 70 miles per hour. Chinese electric vehicles are particularly low speed with a maximum of 50 miles per hour on many models. In the United States, hybrid vehicles are currently more powerful than electric vehicles, and most hybrid models can reach higher speeds because of the availability of a gasoline engine. With the promotion of low-speed electric vehicles being popular options in China, there might not be a major shift toward higher speed electric vehicles for many years while in the United States there will likely be higher priced models that can drive at high speeds such as the Tesla Roadster.
