Honda is one of the best auto makers out there. Consumers are loyal to this auto maker for many reasons. Honda has accomplished what other automakers have not, a general census from all generations. Honda is love by the young because they can “trick” out their Civics, loved by the middle age because of the safety and loved by the older generation because of their reliability. So, when Honda releases they are recalling not just thousands but over a million vehicles, it makes you scratch your head and say, whoa. Is this a sign that Honda is starting to get sloppy with their engineering process? Or is this just a bad batch of parts to put the company in question? Either way, it will take a lot of bad media to have Honda drop down on the list from the top. Honda is a big reseller for Sarasota used car dealer.
This recall is due to a software update. The specific software that needs to be updated, is the software that controls the automatic transmission. Honda believes without this specific update that the secondary shaft bearing could be affected. If you shift quickly between gears, the reverse, neutral or drive, to dislodge a vehicle from being trapped, this is what Honda thinks will happen to the bearings. If the bearings do damaged, this could cause the engine to stall or lead to difficulty shifting into the park gear. Honda is saying, the update will ease the shifting between gears while reducing the damage effect, and it needs to be to the automatic transmission control module. There have been no injuries or death related to this condition.
Honda does encourage the owners to take their vehicle in soon or when the recall letter arrives, to an authorized dealer correct this matter.
