Suzuki Joins Recall List

This has been the year for recalls, but the most recent one that Suzuki had to issue makes me wonder if American consumers truly are complaint happy? Some might say that the selection at Bradenton used cars is small, but in reality, their used car lot is huge! And some red white and blue proud Americans like to bad mouth our domestic vehicles, when in fact, the vehicles at Ford Boise have been winning awards. Ford Motor Co. has spent the last seven years or so completely overhauling their whole production process and improving quality. The most recent recall has to do with a glove box flying open during a motor vehicle collision, and the contents could injure the passenger.
Employees at Peoria VW were recently busy repairing their Routan model, which was recalled earlier this summer for a short circuiting wiring problem that could cause a fire. That kind of recall seems a lot more warranted than a glove box that spills open. The 2010 Kizashi is the affected model, and approximately 5,100 models are part of the recall. While is may seem foolish when reading the headlines about glove box contents injuring the passenger, the recall is backed up by the Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards. If you are the owner of this model vehicle, your glove box will be replaced free of charge with one that is up to code. The Suzuki customer line is 714-996-7040 if consumers have further questions. Also, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration is the government agency that is responsible for enforcing the recalls and more information can always be found by visiting their website.
Again, I think car makers are overreacting. Just because Toyota paved the way for the media spotlight attention when it comes to automotive recalls does not mean we have to continue to make such a fuss about them all. Accidents are unpredictable and no one expects their glove box to remain shut upon impact.
