Honda Recalling Over A Million Vehicles!

2010 Honda Accord 300x187 Honda Recalling Over A Million Vehicles!Honda is one of the best auto makers out there.  Consumers are loyal to this auto maker for many reasons.  Honda has accomplished what other automakers have not, a general census from all generations.  Honda is love by the young because they can “trick” out their Civics, loved by the middle age because of the safety and loved by the older generation because of their reliability.  So, when Honda releases they are recalling not just thousands but over a million vehicles, it makes you scratch your head and say, whoa.  Is this a sign that Honda is starting to get sloppy with their engineering process?  Or is this just a bad batch of parts to put the company in question?  Either way, it will take a lot of bad media to have Honda drop down on the list from the top.  Honda is a big reseller for Sarasota used car dealer.

This recall is due to a software update.  The specific software that needs to be updated, is the software that controls the automatic transmission.  Honda believes without this specific update that the secondary shaft bearing could be affected.  If you shift quickly between gears, the reverse, neutral or drive, to dislodge a vehicle from being trapped, this is what Honda thinks will happen to the bearings.  If the bearings do damaged, this could cause the engine to stall or lead to difficulty shifting into the park gear.  Honda is saying, the update will ease the shifting between gears while reducing the damage effect, and it needs to be to the automatic transmission control module.  There have been no injuries or death related to this condition.

The Ford F-150 has been recalled for a short circuit defect that could cause the airbags to deploy randomly. The recall affects almost 1.2 million F-150 vehicles as well as some Lincoln Mark LT vehicles. These models can be found at Woburn Used Cars dealerships and other local dealerships. Mazda 3 pricing has not been affected these recalls along with other competitors. Raleigh Mazda Dealers also sell high quality competing models that have not been the subject of a recent recall. The models that are affected by the recall are past year F-150 models produced from 2004 to 2006.

144,000 pickup models were recalled previously, but the latest recall expanded to models to include up to 1.2 million F-150 models. The airbag deployments were due to a “wiring chafe” problem, Ford said in an e-mailed statement. Ford said, ”If a wiring chafe occurs, the airbag warning lamp will illuminate for an extended period of time prior to any risk of deployment, alerting owners to service their vehicle.” Ford warned customers who see an airbag warning lamp to seek service immediately, as this defect can be dangerous. Ford would begin notifying customers in May and the company will instruct customers to take their F-150 or Lincoln to their local Ford dealership to have the vehicles repaired at no cost.2009 ford f150 2 300x212 Ford Expands F 150 Recall;

There are currently no accidents that have resulted from the problem, but Ford wants to take care of the defect proactively to avoid accidents. The deployments that have occurred have been within a few seconds of starting up the vehicle and not while driving. But in one instance a vehicle that was slowly exiting a driveway had an airbag deployment. Currently no airbags have been deployed while a vehicle has been in fast motion. The NHTSA chairman said that he is pleased with Ford’s commitment to safety. Ford previously said that the condition did not present an unreasonable risk to drivers.

Fraudulent Claims Tarnish Reputation

Prius Fraudulent Claims Tarnish Reputation

Everyone loves a good headline and while it is true that all news is good news for San Antonio Ford Dealer, there are some people out there who are realizing that the media can sometimes be unfair in their reports.  There are recall headlines on a daily basis that affect this country, but everyone is going to remember the Toyota unintended acceleration problems for the rest of their lives.  These acceleration problems did not impact Kingston Honda and the vehicles they sell.  New reports indicate, without any doubt, that the Toyota vehicles did not malfunction and any problems were related to faulty floor mats and sticky gas pedals.  People put the wrong type of floor mats in their cars from Virginia Honda Dealership, but no one makes a big fuss about that!

You undoubtedly heard reports from consumers claiming that their Toyota Prius vehicles would accelerate to nearly 100 miles without them intending to do so.  For as long as we can remember, Toyota was the number one automaker in the world, and this recall business threatened their reputation.  While some analysts out there guessed that Toyota would never be able to recover from the headlines, there are signs that things are turning up for the popular Japanese brand.

For 2010, Toyota produced the third top selling vehicle for the United States.  It was odd that the top two sellers of last year were both full size pickup trucks, but this year is likely to show a shift back to normalcy.  The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has been investigating the claims of unintended acceleration related to some faulty electrical problem since the issues first were discovered.  Their thorough investigation has concluded that there is no possible way that Toyota’s electrical systems caused these problems, and the only logical explanation is that drivers panicked and stomped on the accelerator when they thought they were stomping on the brakes.

GM Recalls 4 Brand New Models!

GM Recall 300x225 GM Recalls 4 Brand New Models!It is fairly common knowledge that recalls are inevitable in the auto industry, no matter how great your Certified VW Phoenix products are.  Things do not last forever and accidents happen.  The majority of recalls are issued before anyone is actually injured as a result of the defect.  Sadly, for GM, they are ringing in the New Year with a handful of recalls for their latest and greatest truck products, some of which can be purchased from Chevy Sarasota.  Currently, the 2011 models of the Escalade, Avalanche, Silverado, and GMC Sierra are being affected by the latest recall.  You might be able to use this information to your advantage and help negotiate the price over at Michigan Chevrolet Dealership.

Escalade 300x225 GM Recalls 4 Brand New Models!It is uncommon for a recall to be issued on a vehicle that, in reality, was just released.  There is currently a problem with the rear axle on these 2011 trucks and as of right now, there are 1,262 vehicles affected by the recall.  The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration is on top of their game this year, and several other models from Chrysler and Honda have already been recalled for some of their 2011 models.  This should not influence your decision to purchase one of these high quality trucks, and the remedy is quite simple and completely free of charge.

According to the research done by the NHTSA, the cross pin in the rear axle of the affected vehicles might not have been properly heat-treated.  This weakens the entire integrity of that part and, in turn, weakens the structure.  If that pin does fracture, it could become lodged within the rear axle causing it to cease.  Even for those of you not familiar with how vehicles work, if something like a rear axle locks up, you are going to lose control of your vehicle and the risk for an accident goes through the roof.  If you need more information, you can visit your auto brand’s website or the recall campaign #10V643000 through the NHTSA directly.

Car Complaints Really Add Up

Car Logos Car Complaints Really Add Up

Despite how reputable the vehicles at places like Boston Toyota Dealership who carry Toyota vehicles, 16% of consumers still had something to complain about regarding their current Toyota vehicle.  It might still have something to do with the hefty amount of recalls in the recent years, but on the other hand, the vehicles over at Kentucky Toyota Dealers are still selling quickly enough for most of the brand’s dealerships to keep their doors open.  However, Dodge Dealers Alexandria need to be on their toes because Chrysler LLC took home the award for the most complaints by brand, with 4.1 complaints per 100,000 vehicles sold.

These statistics were tabulated by the expert analysts over at Edmunds who noticed that while the NHTSA does a great job of issuing recalls to keep drivers safe, a lot of the complaints that drivers notice on a daily basis seem to fall through the cracks.  If you have a complaint about your vehicle, you can fill out an online form or there is even a hotline you can call.  The NHTSA works closely with the ODI (Office of Defects Investigation) with regards to the complaints being made.  However, most of us have filled out these online generated forms and what one person might claim to be a billing issue someone else might classify as a service issue.  Because the filters aren’t foolproof, Edmunds has taken upon themselves the task of sorting through all the complaints to get a true sense of what is going on out there.

Because there are just far too many complaints to read all of them, Edmunds has begun their research as of complaints that were filed after January 1, 2005 and is only paying attention to complaints being made about vehicles made from 2005 and newer.  Consumers complain about a wide range of topics, all the way from powertrain complaints, seatbelts, headlights, and everything in between.  We are happy to report that November 2010 has had the lowest amount of complaints and represents an 18% decrease compared to September and a 6% decrease compared to October.

Honda is recalling over 10,000 more Accord models. Models that are sold at PA Mercedes dealerships are not affected by the latest recall. Honda is recalling both the Accord coupe and the Accord sedan. The models that are being recalled are thought to have a defect in the front suspension. Models that are sold at Richmond Mercedes do not have this defect and have not been involved in a recall for some time.

Also check out Mercedes Benz Dealers Alexandria for more high quality models that are well-built and engineered with the latest technology. The NHTSA has said that the front suspension has problems with the bolts that attach the front dampers to the suspension. The Accord V6 and the Honda Pilot may have spindle nuts that are loose as well. There are currently only 10,000 units affected by the recall, which is a small number in comparison to the amount of Honda Accord models on the market.

The software that controls the bolts had a malfunction that resulted in the loosened bolts. Affected models can be fixed at Honda dealerships that will replace the bolts and spindle nuts without charge. The defect was thought to be due to a bug or malfunction in the software that controls the machines that tighten the bolts at the factory. The result of the defect is that Honda Accord models may lose steering control.

The affected models include 2010 and 2011 Accord V6 models and 2011 Honda Pilot models. The dealer will inspect the affected vehicles and the recall began on December 23rd 2010. Those who own the above mentioned models may called Honda at 1-800-999-1009 in order to determine whether their vehicle is affected by the recall. The owners of the affected models may also contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Hotline to determine whether they need to take their vehicles to the dealership.

GM has issued a recall for up to 13,00 vehicles after reports of potential fires in the vehicles. GM will be recalling Buick models free of charge. The recall comes on the eve of GM’s IPO which may be affected by the latest recall. Models sold at Gainesville Ford Dealers are not part of the recall. GM’s IPO may have less investor confidence after the latest recall. Also check Collision Repair Birmingham for the repair of your vehicle that has been involved in a collision.

Subaru Decatur sells Subaru models which have not been affected by the recall. GM will be recalling vehicles that have a risk of fire.  GM will repair the vehicles free of charge as many other manufacturers do when there is a recall. The recall is occurring because of a flaw that may cause power steering fluid to leak in the vehicle. The leakage of power steering fluid may then cause a fire to be ignited in the engine. Chrysler is another automaker that will be issuing a recall for its Jeep Liberty vehicle models.

GM will be recalling Buick Lucerne models as well as Cadillac DTS vehicles. The recall follows the reports of two fires that are related to electric arcing that may have been triggered by a power steering fluid leak. There have been no injures thus far due to the leakage, however GM is looking to recall the affected vehicles as soon as possible to avoid injuries or accidents. GM investigated the problem and came to the conclusion that there were starter and alternator cables that are not installed correctly on the affected models that are touching the power steering line. GM has said that it will repair the vehicles which are still under warranty for free and the total affected number of vehicles is over 14,000.

Suzuki Recall SX4 for Side Mirror Fixes

Suzuki SX4 1 300x225 Suzuki Recall SX4 for Side Mirror Fixes

Suzuki is recall its SX4 vehicle model to fix its side mirrors. Other imported vehicles from Korean manufacturer Kia can be purchased from a Jersey City Kia Service. The screws that attach the side mirrors to the SX4 can become loosened from vibrations from the road and cause the mirror to come off. Suzuki vehicles and other can be purchased with Car Credit Covington, and Suzuki vehicles are gaining in popularity in the United States.

Also check out MA Infiniti of Norwood Dealer businesses for discounts on the popular Infiniti luxury brand. The recall will affect 67,377 SX4 hatchback models in the United States. The models were produced from the years 2008-2009. There will also be 2,200 models from the 2010 model year that will be recalled. The data for these recalls was posted on the website of the National Highway and Traffic Safety Administration website. There are three screws that are used to attach the side rear view mirrors to the SX4. The screws may become loosened while the vehicle is driving and as a result the side mirror may fall off while the vehicle is being operated. This is a potential safety risk and Suzuki is looking to fix these defects as quickly as possible.

Suzuki dealers will replace the screws with locking screws at no cost to vehicle owners.  Suzuki said,“Replacement screws are on their way to Suzuki dealers, and customer vehicles will be refitted as quickly as the parts arrive and customers make appointments with their dealers to have their vehicles serviced.” Sales for Suzuki have increased in recent years but for this year sales have decreased. Suzuki has not issued a recall in many months and Suzuki is looking to improve its sales with the new Swift model that will be offered in the United States for the first time in many years.

Toyota Bought Problem Vehicles;

prius 300x177 Toyota Bought Problem Vehicles;

A lawsuit claimed that Toyota bought back problem vehicles in the United States in order to hide their unintended acceleration cases. Vehicles without speed control defects can be purchased with a Chevrolet Quote Orlando at a discount. It is thought that Toyota had attempted to hide these vehicles from regulators and the transactions supposedly had confidentiality agreements between the consumers who had their vehicles purchased from disclosing the details of the transaction or suing Toyota. A class action lawsuit has been revised with these claims. Executive Jeep models are not included in this lawsuit.

Toyota and other models can be repaired at a Wallingford Car Repair Shop. There are other allegations of circumstances where technicians replicated speed control problems that were reported by customers. There was the confirmation of at least one case by the company where unintended acceleration was hidden from reporting rather than reported to the regulators. The lawsuit is over 700 pages long with hundreds of pages of exhibits and it was filed last Wednesday in Santa Ana, California. The U.S. District Court in this city will hear the case. The case has been built over the summer and it is the combination of several complaints of lost business and decreased vehicle resale values due to the problems Toyota has experienced.

Other claims included unintended truck acceleration and claims from businesses on economic losses. The lawsuit claims that Toyota ignored the unintended acceleration problems over the past decade and did not install an override system which could have prevented accidents until the company had not choice but to confront the issue after a wave of reports of unintended acceleration crashes and deaths. Toyota released a statement last Thursday that it repurchased some vehicles from consumers in order to conduct “further engineering analysis” on the vehicles that supposedly had unintended acceleration problems. More information can be found in the Toyota press release.

Ford Models Recalled for Engine Fire Still Unrepaired

2008 Ford E Series 041 300x199 Ford Models Recalled for Engine Fire Still Unrepaired

There are still millions of Ford models that are not repaired that have been recalled for a fire risk.  Dodge models which can be bought at a discount during Dodge Factory Incentives New York are not affected by this recall.  8.4 million vehicles on the road could catch fire due to a lack of owner information on a defect. The NHTSA urged the owners of 14 million vehicles to take their vehicles to the dealer to have them fixed. The vehicles have a fault cruise control switch that may leak fluid into the antilock brake system and cause a fire. The defect is not found on models sold at Cleo Bay Honda Dealers.

Ford models are sold at Columbia Ford Dealers, and an NHTSA spokesperson said that over 8 million of the affected 14 million vehicles still have not been brought in for repair. Around 30 percent of vehicles are not returned for repair, but this larger percentage means that owners are not aware whether or not their vehicles need the repair. The statement by the NHTSA also told owners to watch out for the signs of potential fire. The vehicle may catch fire even if it is turned off.

The signs of a potential fire or problems with the system include cruise control lights that do not turn off or brake warning lights on the dashboard of their vehicles. Ford has notified the owners of these vehicles to return their vehicles for repair. The affected models include the 1992-2003 E Series, 1993-2003 F Series, and several Windstar models. Ford recalled 4.5 million vehicles in October of 2009 due to faulty cruise control switches that lead to 72 fires.  The recall for this defect was the largest ever in the history of U.S. recalls with over 14 million vehicles being affected.  Ford vehicle owners can check whether or not their vehicle is affected by the recall at this site: Ford Recall Information
