Buyers of the Ford Fiesta will receive a $50 gift card if they had to wait longer than expected for the new introduction to the North American market. Used Ford models may be purchased from a Cincinnati Used Cars dealership or many other dealerships.  Ford has offered the gift card because the production of the 2011 Ford Fiesta was delayed in the United States due to supplier delays and other logistical problems.  There are also many models available at a local Peoria VW dealer that have come out in the past year and are popular sedans or crossovers.  Reading Suzuki sells models like the Suzuki Vulcan and the soon to be reintroduced Suzuki Swift, another subcompact vehicle that will compete with the Fiesta.

The gift card was considered to be “a token of appreciation for their patience,” of the customers who had to wait for their Fiesta.  The Fiesta has had delays in reaching dealerships due to a hurricane that hit Mexico.  The hurricane caused railways to slow down and other problems, and the slowdowns resulted in critical parts for the Fiesta not being delivered on time.

Ford said that at the moment they have 6,500 to 7,000 Fiesta models in transit to dealerships, and they expect Fiesta support capacity to increase over the next few months.  Although the Fiestas have been slow to deliver, at the moment the model has been delivered to dealerships in every major continental state in the United States.

Some of the railways that are used to ship Fiesta parts were still damaged by the hurricane and have not yet been repaired.  The 2011 Fiesta is one of the most popular subcompact vehicles to hit dealerships in many years, and supply for the model has been greater than demand for the time being.  The 2011 Fiesta is a popular vehicle model in Europe and Ford hopes that the popularity will continue in the states.
